Hi,

I have a computer with ASUS A7N8X (normal version), 1GB DDR RAM PC2700,
120GB HD WD ATA100, ASUS Gforce 4600, and a AMD 1800XP processor.

Do I notice any performance gain if I upgrade to a new AMD processor ?

thanks

Yes, you can surely get some gain but be aware that the your PC2700
memory only supports up to a 333FSB(166Mhz). Also check-out the Asus
Website, CPU Support page for your version MoBo/BIOS.

I was thinking on CPU AMD K7 ATHLON XP 2600+ 333FSB, I have latest bios
(1007) and my mobo is rev 1.06

does I need to change the cooler ? (I have thermaltake 7)
