When you install an HP printer there will be three processes running
all the time - what is the diff between the three?

hpqtra08
hpqste08
hpwuschd2

I'm pretty sure they just make it faster to access the printer, but
from looking at articles I'm not totally sure what the diff is. (I
know you can turn them off with msconfig but I'm not sure if it's
safe.)

Thanks

I don't see how any damage could be done by not starting those
processes. Try it one at a time and see if the printer still works. If
it does then check to see if the process restarts when the printer is
used. With the speed and memory of current computers, the resources
used for these processes is trivial. You could also verify that fact
with them running or not running.
I have three printers, scanner, and two camera input devices and I'm
not about to start turning processes off as long as they are not
malware.
