paying if it is really good please advise thanks
If you are coming from a Win9x/ME background, the number of processes can
be alarming. However, 35 is within the normal range for XP.
To manage startup programs, use Start> Run> MSCONFIG> Startup. Suggest
leaving services alone (found in MSCONFIG and Administrative Tools>
Services) until you know a bit more about them. There are many sites online
that explain what the different services are and what they do. One that I
like is here:

If you do change something, make a note of the original setting so that you
can go back to where you started if something stops working. System Restore
can help with this too but may miss a setting change that is not critical
to the operating system.
If you are online, typing phrases into the search box of Help and Support
will bring up help file info and related MS Knowledge Base articles.
