Sir Basil

Hi there,

Upgraded to

an NF7-s with XP2500 @ 3200+
2 x 512MB PC3200 DDR
ATI Radeon 9800pro 128mb

Everything was sexy, but recently my pc has been shutting down randomly when
playing Star Wars Galaxies, like the plug was witched off at the wall. The
little light on the mobo is still on though, so I dont think its the surge
protector cutting power.

Anyone any idea?

Regards

SB

Whats the power supply unit's output wattage?
Perhaps its not up to handling the new parts? I had a system that would just
up and restart..turned out to be a bad psu

350W unbranded

Sounds like your power supply is inadquate for the load your components
present, and it is tripping off.

I had to replace my PSU! 400W to a quality 550W. (3 hard drives etc)

If you have any additional cards plugged in then remove them for a short
time to save on spending money just in case. Plug in a PS/2 keyboard and
mouse if your using USB and see if it still resets. Lighten the load and
see if it's the burden.
