Hi!

I have an urgent problem. I'm useing 2 PC's with Windows XP Pro on them.
When i used the Win98SE i needed only to set up the IP and the GW. But this
Networking wizard thing seems to be not working.

My PC's see each other and i can ping them. File and printer shareing works,
but
only to one direction. Internet shareing doesn't works.

Can I find anywhere a step-by-step instruction guide to set up the
connection and shareing?
If anyone knows the solution for this problem pls write to me or answer this
question here.

My e-mail is: (e-mail address removed)

!!!It's very important for me!!! :(

It sounds like you may at some point used WinXP Restore
and if this is the cawe then your network will not
function. Microsoft are aware of this and have posted a
driver on their updates site. Sorry I can't offer the
link as I can't recall it. Go to their update site and
search the updates and fixes. I hope you fix it.
regards.

For ICS:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics

These tips should help get file sharing to work:

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/ic_firewall.htm

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

Windows XP Network Protocols
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/network_protocols.htm

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
Details here:

Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (NetBT)
