I'm having some problems here. I needed to change the computer name, then
rejoin the domain. The problem is I never set the local administrator
password. When going through the install I jumped right into adding it to
the domain.

I need to log on as the local administrator and I have not been able to do
so. There never was a password set so I tried a blank password, null or
NULL, "" and the password I used on the domain.

I have a local user account that is not in the administrator group, but that
doesn't allow me to add it to the domain.

What can I do to fix this?

Hello pete0085,

If you have to rename a domain computer, use a domain admin account and just
rename it. No need to rejoin the computer to the domain.

Well is there anything I can do after the fact? The computer is no longer on
the domain and the local administrator never logged on or has an active
password. The only thing I might be able to do is set the local user account
as an administrator, but not sure how to do that since the local
administrator account was never established.

I was logged on as the domain administrator, changed the computer name,
removed it from the domain. Basically the same steps that I always do,
expect I'm not able to logon as the local administrator. Like I said earlier
I created a local account that is a power user or user account, but it is
very restricted.

Hello pete0085,

Reset the local admin account and you can use it.
