Problems with Windows Media Player

Help, whenever i click on the icon to Windows Media Player it does not open up or even run. All it does is give out a bleep sound and there is not even an error message. I have tried to open it and run it and have gone into the files but nothing works. Should I delete the program and reinstall it?

Go to Start > Run and in the Run box copy, then paste, the following:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\setup_wm.exe"

Then hit the Enter key to reinstall Windows Media Player.
