Problems With Windows Internet Exployer

I just purchased a laptop with Windows Vista on last month. Every time after
I turn on my laptop and is connected to the internet; I click on the Windows
Internet Exployer to search on the web or check my email. The Windows
Internet Exployer freezes. What can I do to prevent from happening again?

Which email program? I suggest you supply more details,
and if the email client program is Windows Mail, post in
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail.
