Hello,
I have a web service on a server which handles requests
over the internet from a VB.NET client application
running on a Windows XP Professional machine. I am
having a problem getting the client machine to
connect to the web service. It is simply unable to
connect, as though there is no internet connectivity.
However, I find that when I start a web browser and
type in the url for the web service (like
www.myserver.com/dir/mywebservice.asmx),
I am able to see a description of the web service and
its methods.
This problem doesn't occur with the same client application
installed on other client machines. Could anyone tell
me if there is something obvious that I should be looking
at on this particular machine? Is it a firewall issue?
Are there known issues with Windows XP and web service
access? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
