Problems with views

Hi,

I've been using Custom forms and views in public folders for a while now (on
Office 97), and I have struck 2 problems that have me confused:
- I have lost my 'All Task folder views', yet if I try to save a view with
the same name as one I've lost, it comes up with 'Another view iwth this name
exists'
- many of my colleages are on XP and OL2003, and one particular colleague
cannot see changes I make to a 'This folder, visible to everyone' view (I
have cleared the form cache but this has not done anything). Is there a way
to refresh a view? (this has been going on for weeks).

I have looked around for info on views (where they are stored etc) but its a
subject that is very hard to search for.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Simon

Views are stored as hidden items. Individual views can be deleted with the MFCMAPI and Outlook Spy tools, but you have to learn your way around the hidden items and folders.

Most likely, the colleague has modified the view and Outlook has cached those modifications. Starting Outlook with the /cleanviews switch should eliminate that problem, but at a cost of removing all of the user's view customizations.

The forms cache has nothing to do with views.
