Problems with User Name

When I was installing windows, all went well, it asked for a user to be set
up and there was the option for that user to be the default logon user, so
that name would come up automatically every time the machine reboots. But I
typed it wrong and didn't notice until after the next reboot. By then, there
were the usual user directories, etc. I went to the Users & Groups in
Administrative Tools, and first tried to "rename" that user. Then the next
reboot, it still showed the misspelled user but now couldn't log on because
that name was no longer associated with the directories, etc. So then I
deleted the other user. But that misspelled one keeps showing up on reboot,
and there's this big ugly error window that says this user can't be logged
on -- can't find it or whatever. Can anyone tell me how I might go about
correcting the spelling of that user name? Thanks in advance.

Control Panel / Users / tick/ then untick the box requiring
users to enter a password. You will now be prompted for
the default user to be used at logon time.
