Problems with USB 2 card

I'm after advice regarding a problem with a USB
2.0/firewire combo card which I recently installed.

My motherboard is MS-6340 with VIA KM133 chipset, and has
2 in built USB 1.1 ports, and i'm running Windows XP. The
combo card is Innovision (DABS value)with 3 external and
1 internal USB 2.0 ports, and 2 external IEEE 1394 ports.

I mistakenly installed the drivers which came with the
card, but removed these and am now using windows XP
drivers. Have updated drivers via device manager. When i
start up my PC the USB 2 ports won't work, but the
firewire connections work fine. Also I cannot get
an internet connection using cable modem connected to one
of my USB 1.1 ports. However my mouse (Logitech MX700)
runs on the other USB 1.1 port. Device manager shows no
problems with any USB component. If I subsequently
restart the computer then all ports are recognised, and
work fine, although not all my hardware will run off the
USB 2.0 ports

Be most grateful for any suggestions.
Paul

Why did you uninstall the drivers that are necessary for the USB 2,0 card?
And, how did you remove them? Just curious!

Now, put them back in to solve your problem!

.
sorry, my post was insufficient. The drivers which came
with the product were for Windows 2000

If you have a "repackaged" Adaptec card, use the Adaptec drivers. But I
would bet that your products web site has them also.

After all, Windows XP had already been released when USB 2.0 was introduced.
I find it hard to believe that the company would NOT have drivers for the
prevalent operating system in play at the time of their products release.

To get USB 2.0 support , please use the following Windows operating systems:
- Windows XP (USB 2.0 is available in SP1 and later)
- Windows 2000 (USB 2.0 is available in SP4 and later.)
After you install these, you will NOT need to install any 3rd party USB 2.0
drivers or INFs for your host controllers/root hubs/external hubs.

Additional info on USB 2.0 in Windows is available at -->
