created a website... when uploaded, home page and second page look perfect.
others have varying degrees of problems of not fitting on the screen. works
better on some computers [resolution] than others but i thought page was to
contract/expand depending upon resolution. in some cases, images have 'moved'
from where i placed them.

would really appreciate help!

All pages look fine on my monitor. The graphic on the Travel
Insurance page could be moved over to the left a bit, but it's still
fine on my 19" monitor using 1280 X 1024 resolution.

see, that's so weird!

my son's monitor is 1600 x 1200, mine is 1400 x 1050... the travel insurance
page, the seaskickness page and the payment page have serious issues. on the
seasick page the picture runs into the text that is supposed to be above it

then my husband's monitor is 1024 x 768 and it's a mess.........a friend
also has 1024 x 768 and not quite so bad.

another friend has 1280 x 1024 and it seems to be the best on hers... but
still the picture on the seasick page is screwed up!!!

this whole web thing is new to me... i intiially designed just a two page
one using a template from fp2000 and it worked fine... or at least i think it
did! no one told me if it didn't... and stuff showed up where i expected it
to.

upgraded to fp2003 and been better in that you can do more but bad in that
it doesn't show up right. i actually used the template from the home page to
create the other pages...just changed to two columns... so i don't see why
some pages are coming out right and not others.

i have read that absolute positioning is bad... but how else do you get the
picture where you want it? using the number of pixels doesn't seem to work
well...some of those pictures are the most messed up!

i keep hunting and reading but am grateful for any ideas you might have.

thankd!

i just discovered one thing.... i finally figured out how to test different
resolutions on my computer [duh!] and at 800 x 600, the home page and the
registration page are great. now i'm assuming that the home page is fine
becauses the thumbnails are in those little cells and can't go anywhere [?]
and the registration page i guess is okay because i did not use absolute
positioning. since it was a video i could just move it around where i wanted
it and i centered it.

however, on all the other pages i messed with absolute positioning so they
don't do well when viewed at 800 x 600 and some don't do well ever!

so i thought i would check the video marker on the registration page to see
where it was set as far as pixels to determine what to do with the others...
but that would have been too easy... it doesn't show. so how do i have a clue
as to how to set those other pictures. even though some of them are in the
right hand cell, the distance seems to be measured from the left margin and
since i'm using percentages i don't know how many pixels.....haven't a clue
where to start!

any thoughts on that?

thanks much.

The way I control things when I have a combination of text and
graphics is to use tables for everything. Then it's not possible for
the pictures to over-run the text, or be out of position.

Dick

thanks dick... it never dawned on me to have a table for that one line!
you've been a big help!
