Hi all... I have many problems with TWAIN devices (an Agfa and an Epson
scanners and a digital camera):
-With the Agfa I should put on the scanner just after the pc, otherwise I'm
unable to run its manager application.
-With the camera I should reinstall the drivers pretty every time I use it.
-With the epson (USB) I cannot run the program.

I have these problems both on Win98SE and WinMe and since I just changed the
motherboard I think it is a problem of Windows. Could you help me, please?

If any of these are parallel, have a look at the BIOS and see if the
port is set to "ECP and EPP" (or ECP if that option is unavailable).
The standard setting is usually that of a standard parallel port,
which is meant just for controlling printers, so it doesn't really do
two way communication very well. As a result, you can get really slow
scan speeds, or problems detecting the devices.

Of course, it may be other problems, I can't really say for sure.

Thank you for the answer... yes, agfa scanner was parallel, but the epson
one is USB and the digital camera was COM... None of them works! I'm waiting
for a PS/2 TWAIN device and for a AGP one :-(((

Did you change the mother board for another make/model?
Have you tried re-installing the mother board drivers?

Thank you for reply. Yes: the previous motherboard was an Asus, while the
new is a Gigabyte. Chipsets are different, and in both cases I installed all
the drivers.
