Problems with the last program update of avast!

Hi to all.
This evening avast! has updated itself (the program, not the database)
and now it doesn't work well.
Double-clicking on avast!Antivirus icon the splash screen freezes and
this message pops up:

Unknown error.
Program cannot set property into main Storage.

I have already posted in the avast4 forum and there I've read that
other users have this problem, so I thought it might be useful to warn
also you here.
If I'll get a solution and if someone else is interested, I'll let you
know.

And which is a NG about antivirus software/problems?

Right now I've received the answer: it was the storage file which was
broken and probably it wasn't connected directly with the update.
It's been sufficient to delete the file <avast>\data\avast4.mdb and
avast! has recreated it when I've restarted the program.
Now it works again.
