When I was installing the motherboard according to the
guide everything seenmd to be all right. The problem is
when the OS starts, I can only see the wellcome screen
showing that the system is starting but then the computer
restarts. For a second I can see in the backround a blue
screen with notice saying sort of:
"A problem occured and the system has been closed to
prevent damaging the computer.
If you see this error screen for the firs time restart
the computer. If the screen will apear follow this steps:
Check if there are no viruses. Remowe all newly installed
hard drives and hard drive controllers. Check the hard
drive to make sure that it is installed and configured
correctly. Run CHKDSK /F to find out if the hard drive is
not damaged and than restart the computer.
Technical data
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF8968640, 0xC0000034, 0x0000000,
0x0000000)"

So that's what the info says. I tryied to connect
different hard drive and nothing has changed. Than I
installed different processor and still the same. I also
changed the graphic card. Didn't help. I was trying to
connect the hard drive to other IDE connectors (including
RAID in Normal mode). But the was still the same problem:
the blue screen with info. When I tryied to connect a new
hard drive with freshly installed on a different computer
OS the difference was that the was no more Windows start-
up screen but only the blue screen with massage as above.
And in this case it was not dissapearing after a second
so I could reed all the massage. Is it something wrong
with my motherboard? It was supposed to be the best
motherboard on the marcet for my Athlon 3200+ processor.
Or is there some other explenation. I really like the
features of this motherboard so I wouldnt like to change
it for one of Assus or DFI models. As for now the only
things which are connected to this motherboard are: the
processor with a Spire cooler, NVidia 440MX, RAM, Floppy
Drive, DPVRM, ATX power and ATX12V power supply cable.

You will need to do a repair install. Follow these steps:

Start the operating system from the CD-ROM,

When the computer starts from the CD, the system checks your hardware

and then prompts you to select one of the following options:

To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

Press ENTER.

Press F8 to accept the Licensing Agreement.

A box lists your current Windows XP installation, and then the system

prompts you to select one of the following options:

To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R.

To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing, press
ESC.

Press R to start the automatic repair process. After repairing Windows XP,

you will probably need re-download all updates, starting with SP1. You can
go to the Windows site and download

the XP Rollup 1 package, which will make the reinstalling of the updates
much easier and quicker.

The repair installation should leave all your data and settings intact, but
you may want to backup critical data.

Thanks guys, but it's not the OS that causes the problem.
I connected my hard drive to another computer an it
starts without any difficulties. I was sugested it may be
the PSU as mine is 350W. However I'll also try that
repair install. thanks again
