Problems with standby

I use internet explorer 6 and my desktop is hardwired to a lynksys wireless
router. I have always on cable internet service. The problem that i have is
that when i activate my desktop from standby mode, IE will not connect. I
don't have this probem when I totally shut down the desktop and then turn it
on. Can anyone help me fix this?

Hi DP :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, thus, I can only try
t guess. Try the following as it may apply to your OS and see if it helps:

Start>Settings> Control Panel>Network and Dial-up Connections>Local Area
Connection>Properties>Configure>Power Management tab>uncheck Allow the
computer to turn off this device to save power.

prompted to disconnect manually before the computer goes on standby. This

standby. When the computer resumes from standby, you must manually reconnect
any remote access connections before you can use them.
