Well I got my Audigy 2 value sound card to be recognized finally, by using
the xp-64 drivers...

But now I have a problem that I still can't hear any sound. When you look at
your tool bar the speaker icon has a red x next to it..

When you click on it it says : The Audio service is not running,,,

When you open it it says : This computer cannot play audio because the
Windows Audio Service is not enabled. Would you like to enable the Windows
Audio Service,,,

when I click yes it opens a window that says Audio Devices..

Under Audio Output (playback) Devices it shows Play control Creative SB
Audigy 2 (WDM) with a green tick next to it..

open the properties and every thing looks normal..

Starting to get frustrated with it..... doghhhhhhh

Anyone have any ideas?

try right click on sound icon click system sound events under sound sound
scheme click windows default

Yeah I have the same problem, but with both my old Audigy 1 Platinum and the
Realtek on board audio card. I do hope its just the lack of proper x64
drivers from creative that doing this, not Vista.

Unless there is another method to hear sound with x64..

control pannel hardware and sound change system sounds under sound scheme
choost windows default

Check all your cable settings on the Sound card if you are using the 2
Channel setting then the input would be at the middle of the soundcard.

Right now Creative is working on Drivers for Vista their patch does not work
and they are trying to fix the issue. I have already e-mailed Creative and
they said as it gets closer to the release date they shoud have the issue
worked out by then.
