Problems with softwear.

I have the new version of windown xp (sp1). I have many
computer games that will not work with this new update to
windows. I also have tried to install a sound card that
is compatable with xp. I need to know is there any
updates that I need to download to get programs running
for this new version of xp. I have tried installing the
newest drivers for the softwear and sound card that I
have. In both cases it did not work so is there anything
than I need to change to get these programs working
again. Any questions about my problems and I will try to
help clarify them. Thanks to anyone who provides help.
 
Rodney, how old are these games. What sound card did you get?? You may
have to try your sound card in another
PCI slot.

Well... A lot more information is needed before anyone here can help you...

What games/software are you trying, have you checked for updates to these
from the publishers?
What error messages are you getting? EXACT error message is needed.
What sound card are you trying?
How much hard drive space and RAM do you have?

Think about it, if you phoned a doctor and just said "I'm ill, give me some
pills", how would the doctor be able to diagnose you from that?
