Problems With Service pack 2

Every Time I install service pack 2 my PC Crashes 9 times out of 10
when I try to get into the control panel,forcing me to reboot .
When I uninstall everything is fine again.
I've tried setting the pc back to factory settings and installing the
service pack again
but the same thing happens.:-(
Has anyone had the same problem or is there a fix ?

Verify with the manufacturers that hardware and software are
compatible with SP-2:

I've had this problem as well, just a thought try going
to the control panel window through my computer. My
systems crashes if I use the link on the start menu, but
not from my computer.
