We have a server that acts as a distribution server for GPO software and
also a RIS server. On this server we have the Windows 2003 Admin Tools
installed. When we try to look at any group policy we are unable to see it
because we get the following error: "Failed to open the Group Policy
Object. You may not have appropriate rights." Details: "The network path
was not found." We have tried taking the machine out of the domain twice
and put it back in. Still gives us the following error. I thought that
maybe it didn't think the server was a part of the domain. Any other
machines work connecting to the GPO and the same users can get on another
machine and it will work but just not from this one server. Since we deploy
software from here we are having problems getting the software to install
because the workstations cannot find the path. Any ideas where to look?
Thanks.
