Problems with sending email, and attempting to send to a Contacts Business Fax

I am attempting to send email to Contacts by simply choosing them in the
'Select Names' pop-up window from a new message window. While doing so
proves to be successful for all of my contacts, two of them have Business
Fax's defined. Since these two have the Business fax defined, I must choose
their emails, otherwise Outlook will fail to send the message to the
'Business Fax'.

I can simply go and check to see which of the two listings is the email and
which is the Business Fax, but I'd like to be able to do a mass selection
and send to their listed emails. Is there a way to make Outlook only show
the email portion of a Contact in the 'Select Names' window?

Thanks
eric

The standard behavior for the Outlook Address book is to display all
electronic addresses (both fax and e-mail). That behavior cannot be changed.
The only way to prevent the display of fax numbers is to store them in a
different field or to disguise them (e.g., precede them with an alpha
character) so that Outlook won't recognize them as phone numbers.
There are also a number of utilities available that can do this for you
automatically. Some are listed here:
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/nofax.htm

Sounds like you should create a Distribution List for your mass mailings.
Then you can select only email recipients within the DL.

If the default behavior is to display all electronic address, why do I not
see Mobile, Home, or Work #'s? If this is as simple as saying "That the
default Microsoft way" please say so. :) I can accept that, although not
be happy with the answer.

You mobile phone, home phone, and work phone, etc. are not electronic
addresses. Your fax number, however, can be used for sending faxes by
e-mail.

Any address to which you can send an electronic message will appear. That
includes email, fax, pager and mobile. I believe I already stated that is
"behavior as designed" and posted alternatives.
