Problems with selecting files in the paperbin

Hello.
I'm writing from France and using the French Vista Home
Premium, and I'm having a problem I haven't been able to
solve over here up to now.
Here it is: when I want to select two or more files from the
bin (for erasure, most likely), I cannot manage a selection
neither with the maj nor ctrl keys: I have to select and
proceed to erase each file one at a time. This is totally
un-ergonomic.
I would seem that nobody has experienced this in the French
forums, so maybe this has to do with my specific
configuration, and what I came to incriminate is a program
called IE Privacy Keeper. It works fine with XP, but I
installed it under Vista before discovering it was not
compliant with Vista (program has no longer been serviced
for quite a long time, it seems). Now IE Privacy Keeper has
this feature called "Secure Delete" that adds a right-click
menu to any file and allows you to erase it in a special,
reliable way. When I found this feature did not appear under
Vista, I uninstalled the program . . . but maybe that's when
my problems with the bin began.
So I'd be *very* grateful if anyone had an idea about how to
get things back and let me select more than one file at a
time in the bin (I'm even ready to roll up sleeves and dive
into the Register Base if needed!).
Thanks for reading anyway.

From MVP Keith Miller:

"It's a quirk of Explorer that's been showing up on some people's machines.
No known cause yet, but it gets saved with folder views once it happens.
I've written a script that helps MOST people with the multi-select problem.
It will remove single-select from saved folder views & saved defaults.
Right-click the link below & select 'Save Target As..." -

"Then extract the contents of the .zip file & run the script."

Just Microsoft, maybe?

Brrrrilliant, Malke! It just worked perfectly fine!
I hope you don't mind I'm forwarding this in the French
forum? Though no-one ever mentionned having this problem but
me, it might help some time.
Thanks a zillion times from France!

I'm so glad this solved your issue. Of course you should post this in the
French forum. It isn't my fix (it's Keith's) but we all help each other
out!

Cheers,

So am I! >sighs in relief<

I have. No reactions yet. I guess they may be somewhat upset
that they couldn't come up with the like of your answer.

Thanks for doing so.
