Problems with Security

I have created a access database which resides on a
server for multiuse throughout the company. The IT dept
set up securities and accesses for file on the server,
and I created the security workgroup for the database so
that the users were only able to add information. Since
I have created the database security, no-one but myself
is able to access the database. They are receiving the
message that their administrator needs to grant them
permissions. It's like they are failing to get through
the server permissions before they even get to opening
the database.

I am on a deadline so If I can't fix the problem I want
to remove the security, but can't find a way to do that
without deleting the entire database.

Does this problem sound familiar & has anyone been able
to delete a workgroup / security once it's been set up.

Please advise

Sounds like there is a file-permissions issue on the server. You must
ensure that all database users have full read-write permission on the
network share where the database is mounted. They must also have full
read-write permissions on the share where the MDW file is mounted.

To remove security, simply grant full permissions to all users for all
database objects. If all your users are members of the Users group
(which they are by default), then just grant full permissions to the
Users group.

See the document on the website in my signature for additional
information.

In addition to what Jack said, they also need the authority to create a
file and delete a file and modify files on the server with the database and
workgroup are located.
