problems with search preview

My ie changed behavior a week ago. When I select search, the "show search
preview" box is checked. If I uncheck it, it doesn't "stick". If I search
again the check box becomes checked again.

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee
VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Here's something else about NAV that you may not be aware of:

Hi Steve and Bear,

Seems to be something wrong with the Live Side Search. As well as the Show
Search Preview checkbox persisting I am finding that only 2 search results
are being displayed in the search pane.

Test Plan - Load the Live Side Search Pane
Open Internet Options and select the Temporary Internet Files Settings
Button, select the View Files button and locate the cookie files
{user}@msn.com and delete them.

Return to the Live Side Search Pane and perform a web search. You should
first see that 10 search results per page will be returned.
Do another web search and you should see that this time only 2 search
results per page will be returned.
Toggling the Show Search Preview checkbox does not persist either....

This is something that the folks at Live Search will have to fix....

lol. More Side Search Pain.

Regards.
