Problems with restoring my contacts from a backup file

I'm trying to reinstall my contacts from a backup file I made previously
using the file: import/export function. At that time I did select the .pst
format for export. When I select this file for import I get an error message
telling me that 'mybackupfile.pst is not a personal folders file'.

Any help appreciated otherwise it's going to be a pretty thin Christmas card
list this year.

In the future, please just make a copy of your PST file which you can then
open in other installations. That is a far more reliable way to back up
data. Import/Export is just a nice way to lose or corrupt data, as you have
now discovered. Import/Export is intended for changing file formats, which
you had no need to do.

So what else might you have done to your file to make it unrecognizable? Did
you store it on a CD? Are you sure it did not acquire a read only attribute?
Have you used the Inbox Repair Tool to check it for errors?

I have a question about Outlook Contacts, but Every time I click on the "new"
button and i press "question" nothing happens - there's nowhere to post a
question. Only when I indicated I wanted to reply to this questiuon that had
already been asked, did this box appear for me to type in. Help! What's the
proper way to post a new question??
