Hi,
I have a "Micradigital 802.11g Wireless USB adapter" connected to a
Belkin wireless router and have been having problems with renewing
ip. I had problems, that meant i could never connect, and as a result
i formatted my hard-drive and reinstalled windows, and thought this
would solve the problem, as is usually the case. However today it has
been intermittently disconnecting and saying that it was unable to
renew the ip address once again. I have attempted to renew it in cmd
prompt, but it always comes up with an error
"An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Connection 2 :
Unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."

It is doing this now as it had done before as well.
If anybody has any new ideas I would be most grateful.

Cheers

Firstly, Do try with providing Static Ip on the Wireless card Properties &
even then if problem exists, then do connect to wireless device through wire
& properly configure it.

When you reinstalled the Operating system did you make sure these settings
been entered:
1- The Correct SSID to the wireless
2- You chnaged the channel to something def than the usual one Chn 11 to
something different from your neighbours like Chn6 or Chn7
3- Updates the Wireless Router and the AP software to the latest.
4- What SP? version on windows installed?
5- Are you using the Windows Zero
configuration (WZC) or the Wireless Utility to manage the connection or Both?
