Problems with Remote Desktop Web Version

I have been successfully connecting to my home computer from my laptop
while out and about, both using the remote desktop regular version and
the remote desktop web version. However, when I try to use remote
desktop web version from my University's computer, I cannot. The
Remote Desktop Web Connection page loads, but the "Connect" button is
grayed out and I don't get any dialog box popping up. I am assuming
that some sort of a security setting on the University's computers
won't allow the software to load properly. I can't access any of
these settings as my account doesn't have the permissions to mess
around with this software. Can this be the case?

Though the University's computers are running XP professional there
appears to be no remote desktop client installed (looking for it under
accessories:communications, the entire communications stem doesn't
appear).

Is there any workaround for this? The techies at the University are
hopeless, esp when you want to do anything non-standard.

Thanks,
Cecil

Yep... You need to have permission to install software if you want to
use the web client (the ActiveX control)..... However, have you tried
to see if the regular client is available? Try running mstsc from a
command prompt.
