I recently received alerts from customers about their screens suddenly
shrinking (ie, screen resolutions dropping to 640*480/16 colors). I traced
it back to pcAnywhere. Uninstalling fixed the problem. It seems to be due
to recent Windows updates.

Has anyone else also seen this?

It seems to affect even the latest version of pcAnywhere (10.5, 11, and
11.5).

Yeah. I had the same problem. I try to restore my computer and then the
text is fine and so is everything else. How do you change the text back to
the original size? I am getting really frustrated. Thanks so much.

My video was OK, but recently I noticed "profile won't unload errors"
upon shutdown. Yeah I went to MS site and d'loaded a workaround..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837115/en-us That did stop the error
but I still didn't know why. Removed it and played a bit. Finally,
uninstalling PCAnywhere got rid of the shutdown error. Don't know
how/why it interacted, but haven't reinstalled PC Anywhere on the PC. I
thought I'd try Remote Desktop/ Remote Assistance when needed. I had PC
Anywhere on the PC for years - no errors until a few months ago ( not
sure which update did it)

Are all of the machines Dells running Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express
Chipset?

Quite possibly...they have all been Dells.

I will have to verify this.

I just had a machine brought in today where the client couldn't play her
favorite game any more. The Dell Intel video drivers got installed.
Once I reversed that, the game was fine. So PA Bear is Right On. And
once again, all of us who say "don't install drivers from WU" are
proved right.
