hi abelardo,

you might also want to try checking the file extension. if
the file was authored from a mac sometimes it won't have a
file extension and windows doesnt get which type of file/
program association it has.

if it doesnt have an extension. try renaming the file with
a .ppt extension to see if you can view it.

hope this is of help.

Regards,

I am unable to enter passwords in the 'open' and 'modify' options when
following the procedure (tools - options - security) because the top half of
the window is 'greyed out'. What settings do I need to change to allow me to
insert passwords?
The OS is Widows XP

My guess is that in Tools > Options > Edit Tab you have disabled some of the
new feature in 2003 (eg Passwords)
