I have just upgaded from office 2000 to 2007. All Office programs seem to
work fine except Outlook with these two noteable problems:

1) the Outlook Address Book is not working. I found what seemed to be the
correct KB article (197577). However, the Resolution described for a
'profile is damaged and does not recognize the Outlook Address Book' is not
correct for VISTA. the proceedure described is impossible!... there is not
"Mail" tab in Control Pannel>User Accounts. When I try to remove and replace
the the Outlook Address Book service as suggesting (having found this option
elsewhere),, the Remove button is dimmed and can not be removed and
recreated. HELP! Going to a Contacks folder 'properties', the 'Show folder
as e-mail address book is dimmed'.

2) the Spell check in emails does not correct mispellings. It will, however,
correct capitalization and such. It always responds withe the message
"Spelling Check is Complete" despite the mispellings. I have tried to
highlight mispellings and then start the spell checker and it still responds
as if no spelling mistakes are encountered.

Are these two problems related?.. How do I fix a corrupted profile, if this
is the case.

I have determined with certainty, that problem 1 was caused by a corrupt
Profile (corrupted by the Office upgrade I suppose). I deleted the profile,
created a new one, and then reattached the original .pst files to the new
profile and, presto, I was able to assign Contact folders to the Outlook
e-mail Address books.

This doesn't excues the error in the KB Article.

I still have issue two (spell check not working), so it can't be related to
the Profile issue. Anyone can help with this?
