Mike
OS: Windows 2000 Professional
App: Excel 97
Any time I try to access an Excel file from our server
(running NT 4.0 Server), using shortcuts, I receive the
following message:
"A document with the name 'filename.xls' is already open.
You cannot open two documents with the same name, even if
the documents are in different folders. To open the
second document, either close the document that's
currently open, or rename one of the documents."
However, I can click OK and continue working. It will
also let me save. If I open the file by opening Excel
first, and then use the File-Open menu, I do not receive
the error message. I have checked all permissions and
everything is as it should be.
This only started happening after I upgraded my machine
from NT workstation to 2000 Pro.
Any Ideas???
