problems with norton utilitys/disc doctor.

was doing a routine diagnose on C: in nortons utilitys and got the message.....the operating system or another process, is currently has exclusive access to this drive or some of it's files. asked if i wanted to scedule diagnosis on windows startup. checked fix errors box but cant figure out where to go from here. new to pc but can figure out enough to do what i need to get by. but this one got me

I don't use the nortons utilities to run check disk I prefer to do it from
Windows. Once the computer has booted up after running check disk etc, then you
can use Nortons utilities for other maintenance if you prefer.

To start Check Disk

1. Open My Computer, right-click a drive, and then click Properties.
2. On the Tools tab, under Error-checking, click Check Now

Next time you reboot, check disk will start.

If you say yes to the scheduling, the next time you reboot chkdisk will run. This is the standard MS chkdisk program, so you may as well skip using Norton Disk doctor. Open "My Computer", right click your hard drive and select "Properties" and then click the "Tools" tab.
