I have some questions I hope you can answer, regarding
networking and Win XP.
I have 2 shared printers on the network. When I set up the
printers from the remote PCs who will be using them on the
network, I set them up in the admin profile. When I create
a user profile with limited access, the printers do not
appear in the printers folder in that new profile. Is
there a way of setting up network printers in the admin
profile, and then devolve the settings to all other
profiles limited or not, ??using the default user folder.
When I connect to the 2 Win2000pro systems on the network
from a winXP system, using the view workgroup pcs in the
My network places folder, and click on a win2000 system, I
am asked for a password, to see the shared resouces on the
2000 system. Is this right and is there any way to stop
it?? also this does not happen the other way round.
Also is there a version of the network setup disk for
Win2000, or does it have to be done manually.
Sorry if this is a little long winded, but I would really
appreciate any advise anybody can give me.
