Hi group,

I have some problems with NCPA.CPL.
The control panel launches the explorer window with the local area
connection icon.
Clicking this icon will not give the local area connection status.

Which components must be added to access de network properties?
I already have the most obvious components like:
Network Configuration
Network Command Shell Interface Context
Network Command Shell
NetUser Windows API
Netshell

Thanks in advange.

Pieter

Thanks KM,

But both components already are in my build.
any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Pieter

Pieter,

Do you have "Wireless Zero Configuration" component included?
I've always thought those components would be enough.

If you do and the problem is still there, you may want to try a few other things:
- add "PnP (User-Mode)" component if not added
- add "Class Install Library - Netcfgx" component
- make sure "Show Notifications on Task bar" option of "User Interface Core" component is set.

If above doesn' help, add "Core Networking" macro and resolve its dependencies.

Also, "Network Setup Wizard" and "Home Networking Monitory Library" may help.

KM,

PnP (User-mode), Class Install Library - Netcfgx and Core Networking also
are in my build.

Because of a deadline, I don't have the luxery to experiment anymore.

I have looked at a working build. Searched for the difference between these
two builds :(
Adding these compononts gave me access to de properties of the local area
connection:

Analog TV
Class Install Library - Dgrpsetu
Class Install Library - Eqnclass
Class Install Library - Mdminst
Class Install Library - Spx
Class Install Library - Winscard
Dial-up Client for Windows
DirectShow Capture
DXMRTP Policy XPSP2
DXMRTP XPSP2
Generic Packet Classifier
H323 Telephony Service Provider
HID Phone Telephony Service Provider
Netgpc Inf
Netpschd Inf
Primitive: Uniplat
Quality of Service Traffic Control
SDP Blob Parser
TAPI 2.2 Client
TAPI COM Client
TAPI Terminal Manager
TAPI User Interface
Terminal Server Device Redirector
Terminal Server Keyboard Driver
Terminal Server Mouse Driver
Unimodem

I still don't have access to local area connection status but ik can right
click and go to the properties of local area connection.
I am not sure which component did the trick, but it works for now.

Pieter

Pieter,

Yes, time is always a problem :-)
Anyway, thanks for listing the components that made the difference for you. This will help someone else.

Let us know here if you happen to know which one was the bullet.
