Problems with My Picture file

I'm having trouble opening the My Picture file on my computer...every time I
try to access it, my screen goes blank for a few seconds. All of my icons
return, but the file doesn't open. The only way I can access the file is
through another program such as my scanner/printer or Print Shop, etc.
Anyone have any ideas?
