Problems with multiple browser windows open

Here's my problem: When I've got two or more browser
windows open, I have one loading while I'm working in
another, since I have such a slow modem (tonight it's
running a whole TWENTY-EIGHT K! I'm amazed...). Usually by
the time I click on a link in one window, the other is all
loaded and ready to be read while the first one loads
another page.

My problem? Sometimes I'll be typing something in window A
and window B will finish loading and it will pop itself up
to the front. No matter what I'm doing in window A,
typing, scrolling, clicking through a drop-down box, etc.

Needless to say, it's very annoying. Is there a way to fix
this?

By the way, this is my first post in here, so if I've
violated any sort of rule, please be kind and tell me...
thanks.

Is there a way to fix this?

It depends on what is causing the popup.
It may be caused by scripting in which case you might have to toggle off
Active Scripting (or put the offending site into a Restricted security zone).
Minimizing the background window may help.

You haven't disclosed your OS but another possibility may be activating
a feature called ActiveWindowTracking or "X-mouse" behaviour.
