Hi,

I have a problem with a hardware that I write in the topic.
My HDD: Maxtor 6Y120MO.
If I turn on the computer and install windows it works OK.
But if I turn off the cumputer and turn it on again there are some problems
to start the windows properly (some blue screens etc.).
Scandisk helps for these problems but after the next truning off and on the
computer it starts again.
I tried to change HDD and mainboard but it didn't help.
I don't have any ideas what to do....
Can anybody help me with this problem ???

Thanx - Peter

Given that you swapped HDD and motherboard, it would seem more likely to
be power supply, video card, or loose cables/cards. I'll assume the
cables and cards aren't so likely since the motherboard was replaced but
you might want to double-check them anyway.

If you've changed any bios settings, reset CMOS to defaults. That being a
relatively young motherboard model, there may be a few bios bugs that take
a revision or two to work out, so check back at MSI website for bios
updates in the future.

If you have a multimeter, take readings of the power supply voltage
levels. I suspect the power supply is insufficient capacity, espeically
if a generic make... systems are getting too power hungry for the generics
to "cut it" anymore. What make/model wattage power supply is it?

You might also run http://www.memtest86.com for several hours.
Try to determine if this is temp related, that is, if it seems more stable
after running for longer length of time, or IF it boots all the way to
windows try immediately running a demanding benchmark like 3DMark and see
if that causes crash.
