IE 6.0. I have a recurring problem when using the Microsoft Newsgroups
(where I am posting this). Quite often when I go to a forum, instead of
getting a listing of the posts, I get the following in the frame:

Sorry, the page you requested is not available.

The page you were looking for is currently not available. The address may
not be correct, or there may be a temporary problem with this site. Please
try one of the following options:
Check the address for typing errors.
Click the Back button and try a different option from the navigation menu.
Try this page again later.
For additional assistance, try one of the pages below:

Microsoft has told me to go to Internet options and delete cookies and temp
files. When I do this it then works properly. BUT WHY AM I HAVING TO DO
THIS ALL THE TIME? I GET THE SAME PROBLEM WHETHER AT WORK ON AN XP BOX OR AT
HOME ON A WIN2000 BOX.

Also, when I log into the .NET (to post to the newsgroups) I always check
"Log me on automatically." Yet I have to logon again each time I come to the
newsgroups, and most of the time my username is not even in the logon box.
What gives?

Have you kept your IE updated?
If not , do so and see if that fixes the problem.
Otherwise, disable some of your settings for accessing the
internet..sometimes that helps. Might be something with any
anti-ad/spy/malware programs too.

I had the same problems when I used the Win xp forum to access these
newsgroups, and following the suggestion of several members, I now use Out
Look Express to access these newsgroups, and have had no problems since.. I
know it's not an answer to your question, but an alternative way to access
these groups without the aggravation.
