Problems with images

I am having a problem with some images on my computer.
Some pictures on most of the websites I visit just have
boxed with x's in the left hand corner. How do I fix this
problem. Also, on some sites, it tells me that the page is
not found or the action has been cancelled and it wont
show anything. Did something get taken off my computer
that needs to be reinstalled. I tried updating and
repairing IE, but that does not help.
 
Felicia, I am having the same trouble, I think it's only
a problem viewing .gif's. all other formats show up fine.
Googled the heck out of this one and have not found
anything yet. Someone here have a good answer?

Are u running a firewall? try disabling it, thats what my
trouble was...now to figure out how to let my norton's
firewall run and still display pics.

I realize disabling firewall is not a good answer, but
disabling it to determine if its the cause would be
helpful. Now to get Norton to allow the images would be
even more helpful. Any helpful suggestions?

Turn off the popup stopper in Norton.
