I recently purchased a diamondmax 10 250 GB hdd and a promise SATA2
TX2PLUS controller. I have an old 120JB Western digital drive I want
to copy over to it. It's currently my secondary drive (no OS) that I
install some programs and store my files on. I purchesed partition
magic 8.0 and ghost 9.0 to move the disk over. Whenever I install
ghost, my computer won't reboot, either in normal or safe mode.
Whenever I try to "copy partition" in partition magic, I get this error
"Access violation at address 00563727 in module 'Pmagicnt.exe.'
Read of address 00000016."
I have contacted Symantec, with less than spectacular results. The
only useful help they gave me was "turn off DEP for those programs" and
"uninstall all veritas software", which I've done. Someone in the
forums mentioned that partition magic is not compatable with Half Life
2, so I unstalled that and Steam as well. The same thing keeps
happening. I've also tried partition magic in safe mode and the rescue
disks, also no luck. I have no other indications of anything else
wrong with my computer. If this helps, my boot drive consists of 2 WD
Raptor 36 GB disks in a RAID 0 connected to an ABIT IS7 mobo.
Thanks in advance...
