Hi

I'm about to go crazy with my tuner for mediacenter, first it was working
perfectly but it has quit working with the following error message

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

There are no new hardware in the machine and nothing have changed. I have
tried updating the drives with the one from Hauppauge but without any luck
:-(

Also tried to disable various bits of hardware to see if I could get it
working but also without luck

So ... anybody seen this before or know how to solve it ?

Thanks

- Tom

In what slot do you have the card installed? PCI 1 or 4 ? If so try slot 2,
3 or 5.
The AGP and slot 1 and 4 do use the same resources in a lot of machines and
give this kind of problems.

Depending on wich direction of the motherboard you are looking it either
placed in slot 2 or 4.

I have already tried to moved it to another slot without luck.

Thanks

I look always from the videocard the next PCI is the first slot (also in the
BIOS settings numbered this way).

Maybe arranging the resoursec by hand, reserving an address will help.

I have found the 500 to be a very fussy card. Sometimes it works, and when
it does, it works fine. Other times, I get the green/black screens and no
sound or broken sound on both TV and Radio. Sometimes a reboot fixes it;
sometimes it doesn't.

I have a 150 on another machine that doesn't have half the horsepower of
this one, and it works like a charm. Can't kill it.

I would never recommend a 500 to anyone, based on my experiences with it.

Well I would like to do a manual setup of ressources but I don't have that
possibility to assign ressources when the device aint working, also when I
look on other devices like soundcard etc. they are all checked in "use
automatix settings" which I can't uncheck...

Well the card worked without problems in MCE 2005 and I have newer had
problems before with the card, also I know lots of people that have that
card without problems ...

You might have gotten a bad one as the 150 adn 500 is based on the same
hardware only diff is that the 500 have 2 tumers.

You have to set the BIOS correct before being able to do so.

But if you have no experience with that I would let it go.
My advise, uninstall the card in the device manager. Remove the card after
shut down.
Let the machine make a run without the card, shut down mount the card again
and let it be reditected.

Well, tried to remove the card etc. without any luck, as soon the drives are
installed (automaticly) and system is rebooted everything is back to start
with the resource problem.

Also looked throug my bios and the seems to be no place where I can manually
assign adresses other than some IRQs which doesn't give me much :-(

Try the 2.0.48.24227 (8/15/06) drivers. They work for me, while the newer
drivers offered on WU do not.

Hello all,

I have the PVR 250, and when I install any MPEG codec I get an error about
the recvr not working. I think this is a codec issue with Hauppauge MPEG
decoder and the windows MPEG codec. That's why other using the 150 have no
problems, since it doesn't decode to MPEG.

I have disabled the card on my system, and hope to get an ATI all in wonder
since I heard they have no problems (and they are cheaper). Also, we don't
need a PVR since WMC compresses the video for us. So, I guess the best bet
is to sell the card and get one with better customer service...
