Problems with Event Viewer

Having problems on several servers where the event logs
can not be accessed. Not getting any errors, just blank
logs. When I open the logs, they are blank. I can
navigate with the the logs, but nothing is displayed. The
logs are set to 512k and overwrite if needed. I have
written a 'C' program to access the logs offline, but that
does the Admins no good if they can't see the logs online.

I started to notice this problem after loading some of the
RPC's hotfixes. Now the problem is much worst. Before,
after a reboot sometimes the logs were available for a
time, now they are not accessible at all until they are
cleared.

Any Ideas?

Hi there,

- try moving the log files to an uncompressed drive
- try restarting the Event Log service
- Can you see new event if the logs are cleared?

Thanks for the response.

The log files are not on a compressed drive. Restarting
the event log service does no good. Clearing the logs
works for about a week, and they get to a point were you
can bring them up. This is even happening on a new server
we just brought on-line. The problem occurs on Windows
2000 Server on HP BL20p (Server Blades) and on a HP B3000
NAS (Windows Powered Server, w/SAK 2.0 I believe).

Any Other Ideas?
