Hi all,

I have an Epson 1200S SCSI scanner on an Adaptec 2910 SCSI adapter.
OS is Win2k Prof, SP2.
If I power up the scanner whilst the PC is up and running, the scanner is
recognized after running Scsi-explorer. So there is no need to reboot.
Unfortunately, after installing SP3 this "feature" does no longer exist. I
really need to reboot the system when the scanner is powered up whilst the
PC is running. As this is rather annoying, it was a reason not to install
SP3.
Does any of you have an experience with this or with W2k Pro +SP4 ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Go to Hardware button and in Device Manager do Refresh. It works for me.

I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Have you installed SP3 or 4? You can power up a SCSI scanner and it will be
recognizes straight away?
And I cannot find anything to Refresh in the Device Manager.

I have installed SP4.
I found that SCSI-devices (I have 2 SCSI scanners) are *not* recognized when
powered during running of the PC. Recognition of these devices only occurs
with SP 1 or 2.

This means I stick to SP2.
