Its more like you monitor is not "Energy Star" compliant as defined by the US
DoE.

Dave

| Hello, I use Windows 2000 SP4.
|
| I have set the energy alternatives to shut down the the monitor after 30
| minutes and the other alternatives to "never".
|
| However, nothing happens after 30 minutes, even though there hasn't been
| any activity for hours.
|
| Could it be a service which fails to load at start up?
|
| Help would be appreciated.

My monitor is LG Studioworks 775C and the energy alternatives have
worked fore more than two years. It's the last two months I've had
problems. So the reason must be another. Thanks anyway.

Like the monitor needs repair ?

I double click on Energy alternatives in the Control Panel and then ok.
After that it works on the current Windows session and the next. But
after two reboots it stops working. I don't think it's a hardware but
system issue.
