Problems with desktop

When I double click on icons or folders desktop blinks, but files do not
open.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how ti fix the
problem please, without having to re-install Win2000 again.

I have that exact same problem that just showed up out of no where. So if anybody gets these messages then let us know hopefully before this weekend, thats when I am reinstalling Win2000 again

Hey I found out from a friend, it sounds like we both may have a virus on our computer. Try running a anti-virus scan against all of your files on your computer.
