problems with creating appointments

My Outlook has been working fine until recently... I am now unable to create
a new appointment or open an existing one to edit it. Is there a setting
that I need to check that somehow might have been flipped, that is now
preventing me from creating appointments? I have also tried clicking on
"New" on the taks bar to try to create a new appointment and nothing..

Hi,
My Outlook strated doing the same thing to me today.
Cannot get a new appointment to save... just comes up with a very unhelpful
'Can't save item' message.
Anyone know what is going on?

Well, that is really strange....

Just closed down Outlook and then re-opened it.. and the problem has gone
away... Now I wonder why that happened. I had a look at all of the option
settings for the Calendar functions - but didn't make any changes.

Very odd.

Could have been a corrupt registry entry, I suppose, that was overwritten to
a correct value when I saved and when the application was reopened,
everything was in order... but that is strange.

Only other thing that I changed last night was I downloaded an add-in to
enable me to receive files in my email that Outlook normally blocks..'for
security reasons'. I suppose that might have made some difference.. but I
guess, I'll never really be sure.
 
I started having the same problem yesterday with my Outlook 2003. I did a
detect and repair, but still can't edit or add new appointments. Can't think
of anything I did to cause this. No problem with adding a new contact or
task. I would appreciate any insight into a fix.

As a workaround, I just copied and pasted all items in Calendar to New
Calendar. I can edit and add new in this one. Guess I could just delete the
old one and rename the new one.
