Hi,
I recently rather stupidly installed some DVD software that seems to have
messed up my Cd Rom settings.
I have three drives a Yamaha F1E Cd writer, A Pioneer DVD Drive, and a
recently purchased BTC 1008Dvd Rw.
Following the software install it seemed to have turned of the autorun
settings in the registry. I have now uninstalled the software but it hasnt
reverted to the original settings.
I understand that some of the dvd writing programs disable autorun to
prevent "undesired" problems with the writers - however this has certainly
caused an undesired problem as that my cd rom drives arent working
properly!!
I have read elsewhere on the group or Google that you need to reset the
Hkey_Local_Machine\System\Services\Control Set\CdRom back to 1 from 0. I
appear to have 3 control sets and I have put the autorun all back to 1.
The problem is that now both the Pioneer and the BTC drives are ok however
the Yamaha is playing up and doesn't refresh when a new disk is put in.
Can anyone give me a hand with this one.
Thanks in advance.
