problems with canoscan after installing service pack 1

hi
i've just recently installed service pack 1 and my canon
scanner d125ou2f is detected as unknown and malfunctioned
i have tried it in a laptop, which has sp1 and doesn't
work
and i've tried it in a pc without sp1 and it does work
could some one help me please?

Disconnect the scanner from the PC.... use the Delete driver from the Canon
website

and reboot.

In Control Panel, Admin Tools, Service, set Windows Image Acquisition to
DISABLE... it doesn't play nice with TWAIN.

Reboot PC.

Install new Canon software from the same site as the Delete Driver...
connect scanner when software tells you to do so.

it turns out you can download a patch from winxp sp2
it should be this one

but after installing it and about to remove service pack
1a
it detected and along with it it also detected a lot of
other stuff
