Problems with CanoScan 5000F

Hello,

I don't use my scanner that much but when I tried to scan a document
today the scan image appeared to be a very dark green. I tried again
with same document and the resulting image was black.

I have checked to make sure my connector from the lid is connected to
the chassis coorectly as well as ensuring the USB and power connections
are in place. I am using Canon's drivers and tools software downloaded
from their website.

Does anyone have some idea of what is wrong with it? Is it repairable
(by me)?
